The Federal Government has created an environment of deteriorating living standards, abuses of the citizenry, and the near impossibility of achieving societal prosperity.

An incomprehensible number of regulations and laws suffocate innovation, delaying the introduction of novel medical therapies and other technological improvements, all of which compromise quality of life and further stifle opportunities for achieving widespread societal prosperity.

The solution to these problems is written into the founding documents of the United States. They enable the Constitution to be amended when the citizenry recognizes a need to enact constructive changes.

A common quote from the Declaration of Independence relates to universal rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”.

This nation’s founding charter made it clear that government derives its “just powers from the consent of the governed”.  This power was later written into Constitution in a way that enables a majority of the citizenry to amend the Constitution when circumstances clearly warrant. To sum up the dire situation with our federal government today, the following quote from the Declaration of Independence (1776) is remarkably prophetic:

“He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.”

This grievance levied against the British government in 1776 is trivial compared to the oppressive burden of regulations, taxes, and bureaucracies that plague today’s citizenry.

We use the following quote from the Declaration of Independence to legally justify the non-violent purposes of the Enlightened Zebra Society to abolish and alter the “bad” aspects to which the federal government has evolved:

“That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government…”

The Declaration was careful to note that “governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes…” It adroitly goes on to caution that mankind is more disposed to suffer if they inappropriately abolish the forms of government to which they are accustomed.

These warnings from the 238-year old Declaration of Independence are prophetic in light of what is happening in Northern Africa/ Middle East today. Brutal dictators (Gadhafi- Libya, Hussein-Iraq, Assad-Syria) have been acutely challenged/overthrown with the result being civil war so severe that citizens might welcome a return of any form of stable, albeit totalitarian government. These real world examples make it clear that before our federal government is significantly “altered or abolished”, that a rationale replacement should first be carefully and meticulously constructed. The Enlightened Zebra Society was created to fulfill this role.

The quote below from the Declaration of Independence, however, makes it clear that “altering or abolishing” a significant portion of the federal government has now become a necessity and duty of all Americans:

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
